Synopsis: "Peak oil - Imposed by nature" focuses on the imminent decline in global crude oil production. With record fuel prices on the rise worldwide, this film exposes a sobering truth. Our world is on the verge of an energy crisis of monumental proportions. Crude oil is a finite resource. When global oil production peaks, serious consequences await humanity, the environment, world industries and the global economy. The real wake up call is that the situation presented is much closer than we think. This important documentary addresses the greatest challenge that faces the modern world.

The film: "Peak Oil - Imposed by Nature" is an excellent introduction to the causes and consequences of the terminal decline of global oil production as we reach the global Peak, expected in 2007 - 2010.

In the documentary, Dr Colin Campbell takes us to Stavanger in Norway, where he has worked the last 10 years of his professional career. He explains the different aspects of discovery and production, the increase and decline, and the fact that this will happen very soon on a world scale. Dr Campbell serves as our guide throughout the documentary, although he is just one of the many informed and informative analysts featured.

The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation did not dare to confront the issues raised in the film. On the contrary, they boycotted this film and used their legal machinery against the filmmaker, Amund Prestegård. He won the case, however, and now the film is distributed around the world through the Internet.
